Here's your opportunity to take an "Asilomar" style of class and immerse yourself. The purpose of this class is to improve your digital photography skills and image processing skills, with an emphasis on printing fabric for quilting. You will receive digital fabric at the end of the class that you can either add to your fabric stash or use as the basis for a quilt top. The fun part of this class is taking pictures, and getting over the frustration of computers so you will know how to create the fabulous fabric you want for your quilts.
You will need intermediate computer skills for this class, but you do not need experience with photo or graphics software. What you need to know is how to use your computer. You need to know where your files are stored and how to access them and how to transfer files from one directory to another. You need to know how to make new directories and folders. You also need to know how to copy your files to a flash drive. You will need to bring either a laptop or desktop computer to the class.
Please see attached supply list for complete details.

There is nothing better than finding a single block that can inspire you to make one, two, three or more different quilt designs. Not knowing the end result before you start the project makes the trip even more of an adventure. It is a fast and easy-to-piece design with the only limitations being your willingness to play with color and textures! Even if you’ve never sewn a curve before, you will be surprised at how flawless your curved blocks will be by the time we break for lunch.
You’re going to learn how to take any pattern from a book, magazine, or packet and rework it so that the design becomes 100% your own, essentially taking inspiration from one pattern.
This easy quilt will allow you to learn the basics of this "re-working" technique plus allow you to design a quilt that works for you — learning how to sew curves with your eyes practically closed won’t hurt either!

The joy of painting onto fabric is that there are so many possibilities and so few rules. This is a time to set free your imagination, pick up brush and play. Apply the same techniques you use in creating the quilt top - visual trial and error. Play with fabric paints to enrich your fabrics before you begin sewing - or at any time during the process. Use paints to add new designs or dimension to portions of your quilts, making the fabrics uniquely your own. The choices are yours and the magic is waiting to happen.

Enjoy making these most traditional carpenter's wheels blocks without all the work. Two different renditions of the quilt are possible in class.
