Camp Venue and Housing

Camp Watch-A-Patcher has moved to a new location – Vanguard University, Costa Mesa CA. 

We are extremely excited about our new Camp Site!  You will enjoy the spacious, air-conditioned classrooms and FLAT terrain - there isn't a hill in sight!! The campus is compact, making it any easy walk from dorms to cafeteria to classes and parking is conveniently close.  No more long treks for day campers, no more hilly hikes from the dorms to classrooms.

Meals will be available on-campus at The Café.  You are sure to enjoy the  variety and quality we have come to expect at CWAP.  Bon Appétit is the  campus restaurant provider (same as our previous location).   Meals will be  available for day campers.   There is wonderful outdoor seating to enjoy the beautiful landscaped surroundings along with ample indoor seating.

The wonderful dorms are double accommodations with a bath (no more quads/bath).  70% of the dorm rooms are fully air-conditioned (first-come-first-assigned).  All upstairs rooms will be access by ELEVATOR -  yes its true we have nice BIG ROOMY ELEVATORS to carry all our necessary fabric, sewing machines, sewing supplies, mats, fabric, fabric and yes more fabric up Up UP to our dorms and class rooms!  Vanguard is located just miles from the beach – so expect those cool summer beach nights.

We have two types of rooms available:

Catalina Hall – standard dorm w/air conditioning.

Each room is air conditioned and has two (2) twin beds and a private bathroom. Each floor is equipped with a laundry facility. These rooms will be doubles (all beds will be on the floor – no top bunks will be used).  Campers can take advantage of the spacious and decorative lobby and lounge on the first floor.   Rooms will open to a common extra wide hallway.

Balboa Hall – standard room no air conditioning.

This facility utilizes a "quad" floor plan in which four bedrooms share a lounge / living area. Each bedroom has two (2) twin beds and its own bathroom. These rooms will be doubles (all beds will be on the floor – no top bunks will be used).  Balboa Hall has a laundry facility which will be available to Campers.  This is a great way to gather your CWAP friends in one area or to make new friends!
